"TASTY TUNA SANDWICH"

When we go to the sandwich shop Subway, I like ordering their Tuna Salad on their honey oat bread, and load it with the veggies and add my favorite provolone cheese.
I used to wonder why I like their Tuna Salad so much. Then I realized it's kinda sweet - yeah, I do have a sweet tooth.
I then tried making my own Tuna salad filling, and I made sure it's a little bit sweet, and with a thicker consistency like that of Subway's. I figured they do not mix in too much mayo, so it's not too runny. Isn't it annoying to eat a tuna sandwich that has spills on the side of the bread?
Some people, especially kids do not like the fishy smell of canned tuna so I suggest squeezing some lemon juice on the tuna meat, before preparing the filling mix. My husband does not enjoy the sour taste of the lemon though, so I just add onions (lots of it!) in the tuna filling mix.
[CHICHAY TIP:Lemons or onions neutralize the fishy taste and smell of the tuna. But be careful in adding lemon juice to the tuna meat, because it if you add too much, then it will make the mix runny.]
Some kinds of breads do not hold the tuna filling well, and then it becomes really soggy, and so I suggest [CHICHAY TIP:choose breads like Orowheat Oat Nut(our favorite), or any bread with a thicker texture]. If you are using plain bread, then it would help if you toast it before serving with the tuna.
For kids, you may give them the plain version of the tuna filling by not adding onions nor pickle relish, especially if you are just introducing tuna to them.
